Why have I never made a roast before? I asked myself that recently while in Stop & Shop as I admired a bottom round roast that I couldn’t pass up. What had my family and I been missing? I knew McCormick made cooking bags and spice combinations that would make this an easy and tasty dish, which inspired me to give making my first roast a whirl.

And we were all glad I did.

The beef, seasonings from the McCormick packet and a host of potatoes (russet and sweet) and veggies (celery, carrots, green beans) went into the bag. After fastening it loosely to allow for expansion, and placing it in a Corningware baking dish, into the oven it went for two hours.

I must say, this was quite the hit. A full meal cooked in a bag that everyone liked…and asked to have me make again. That’s a definite winner in my eyes, and another one to add to my rotation of meal favorites.
